Crosbie Climate Systems - Complete heating and cooling solutions for your home or business

Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I get a professional to install my unit?  Couldn't I purchase a unit from a retailer and install it myself?
The short answer to this question is no.  This type of work must be carried out by qualified plumbers and electricians.  If this work is done incorrectly it can put your health and safety at risk, and result in serious injury.  By using Crosbie Climate Systems you also ensure that the work carried out is guaranteed for  years.

How do I find out how much it will cost?
We have our base prices on our home page, as well as on each individual product page.  This will hopefully give you a ball park cost for your heater or air conditioner, including installation costs.  For a more comprehensive quote please call us or submit a quote request through our website.  We will respond to your request within 24 hours.

I currently have electric heating in my house, which works ok. Why should I look at replacing it with gas ducted heating instead?
There are three key advantages to gas ducted heating.  Firstly, while you may be looking at outlaying money to have it installed, the running costs are significantly lower than electric heating methods.  The system is also more effective and will heat multiple areas of the house through the one system.  Gas ducted heating is also more environmentally friendly.

How can I reduce the running costs of my heating or cooling system?
There are several things that we look at when recommending the most cost effective system for your needs.  Units with a high star rating of 4 or 5 will definitely assist with keeping the running costs down.  Depending on the system you require, we also look at zoning the ducts so that you can limit the rooms, allowing for more efficient usage.  When discussing with you your quote and our recommendations, we always include options for reducing energy usage to ensure your energy bills are better off in the long term.

I find all the different options that are now available really confusing - how do I know which option is going to be right for me?
With recent technological advances in heating and cooling units there are a lot of different options available in the market, and we understand that wading through the information is a daunting and time consuming task.  Crosbie Climate Systems do that hard work for you - we have an excellent relationship with our dealers and spend a lot of time understanding the benefits and features of the different systems.  By talking to you about your needs and understanding the layout of your home we are able to then give you recommendations that will suit your lifestyle.  We always make sure that we go over your options with you in easy to understand language - the last thing we want to do is talk to you in heating and cooling code!

What areas of Melbourne do you service?
Crosbie Climate System's showroom and factory is located in the outer eastern suburbs of Melbourne, we service all of Metropolitan Melbourne and continue to carry out work around the city.

I am about to start building my new dream home - when should I think about deciding on my heating and cooling system?
We can design a complete heating and cooling system for you from your plan, and in fact, we prefer to do this.  We work all over Melbourne, and would be happy to work with you to design the best system for your new home. By organising your heating and air conditioning before you start to build you can then coordinate the installation of your units with your other trades.  It is never too early - visit our New Home page in our Products section for more information.

I have had evaporative air conditioning in the past but never felt that it made my house cold enough.  Why should I look at Evaporative cooling as an option in my new home?
It is true that evaporative cooling has a different feel to it than traditional refrigerated air conditioning units. Like any new technology evaporative cooling has come a long way since it first made its way on to the Australian market.  It is also extremely cost effective and environmentally friendly.  However some people feel that it is just not for them, which is why we offer an alternative in our reverse cycle ducted heating and cooling - check out our products page for more information on this type of system, which may better suit your needs.
